Stepping onto the court Barbados Kennie King put up a valiant fight but went down in straight sets when he was defeated by Cuba’s Roberto Vazquez at the Pacific Valley Events Center on Court 3 in Cali Colombia.
King is the Barbados number 1 ranked junior Badminton player and has also won the 2020 senior title, however he has not been able to play a tournament since the Covid-19 Pandemic caused the shut down but stayed close throughout the match which ended 21-18, 21-16.
King even led at some stages of the match making his opponent fight for every point but during some pivotal moments of the play he dropped his intensity which may have been the deciding factor in his match at the Inaugural Junior Pan American Games in Cali Colombia on Friday 26th November 2021.
