Barbados Sheridan Greaves lost his opening Kumite match when he competed on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in his first Pan American Senior Karate Championships which was held in Uruguay.

Greaves who was competing in the Pool 1 Round 1 of the male 84+ kg category came up against Costa Rica’s Gerardo Vargas. With his coach Cameron King in the corner, Greaves a black belt in Shotokan Karate went the distance in his first match in the WKF format but lost the match 5-0.
