Sade Sealy inducted in the 49th class of the Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame

Barbados Sade Sealy was inducted in the 49th class of the Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame on October 16th 2021 at a ceremony conducted inside the Bone Student Center during 2021 Homecoming festivities at Illinois State University ISU. Sealy who last competed in the 800m at the NACAC New Life Invitational 2021 in June where she clocked a time of 2:05.1 has left her mark at ISU.

Her long list of accomplishments at ISU where she studied and competed from 2010- 2013  are as follows as taken from the ISU website: 

11-time Missouri Valley Conference Champion, including winning the 400m at the indoor and outdoor MVC meet every year of her career (8 total) … was also a part of three MVC Champion relay squads … earned a total of 21 All-MVC honors, including eight in the 400m and six in the 200m … named the MVC Most Outstanding Track Athlete three times in her career (2011 Indoor, 2013 Indoor, 2013 Outdoor) … was a four-time NCAA West Preliminary Qualifier in the 400m and advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the event as a senior in 2013 … still owns the school record in the 400m indoors (53.62 in 2012) and outdoors (52.01 in 2013) and is also part of the school-record holding distance medley relay team that set the record in 2012 at the prestigious Drake Relays (11:19.74)

Sade has also competed in the International Association of Athletics Foundation (IAAF) World Championships following her senior season in 2013 … after switching events from the 400m to the 800m, narrowly missed the podium at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
