Burke finished 37th at the World Surfing League Men’s Challenger Series

Oct.19 – Joshua ‘Josh’ Burke is moving on to the Round of 48 after winning his Heat at the World Surfing League Men’s Challenger Series on Tuesday, October 19th 2021.

Burke who is competing at the third stop of the Challenger Series, the Quiksilver Pro France currently being held in Seignosse, Landes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France came away with a close victory on the shore break with a combined score of 12.47 points.

His two highest-scoring waves earned him a 6.60 and a 5.87 to win ahead of Brazil’s Caio Ibelli who finished with a combined score of 12.03.

Burke is slated to compete in Heat 4 of the Round of 48 where he will face Brazil’s Marcos Correa, Lucca Mesinas from Peru and Rio Waida from Indonesia.

Barbados Chelsea Tuach finished 49th  with a combined score of 8.50 in her Heat in the Round of 64  of the Women’s Challenger Series the Roxy Pro France which is the third stop for the women.

Barbados Joshua ‘Josh’ Burke finished 37th at the World Surfing League Men’s Challenger Series.

Surfing on the North Bank at the Quiksilver Pro France in Seignosse, Landes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, Josh could not find the right waves to help him get out of the Heat.

He had some strong first turns but was never able to catch a wave that would allow him to string together a series of moves and finished with a combined total of 8.50 points to earn 650 points.

The final stop of the Men’s Challenger series will be on November 26- December 7 at Haleiwa, Hawaii, United States.
